“Slate” is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

“Slate” may change this policy by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 20th May 2018.

 

1. What we collect
We may collect the following information on members of your club:

  • name
  • contact information including email address and phone number
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • squad/team information
  • medical and emergency contact information

We do not collect or hold any financial information. This is all held and managed by a payments partner Gocardless. See www.Gocardless.com for more details.

 

2. What we do with the information we gather
We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  • We may periodically send promotional email about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail.
  • We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

 

4. How we use cookies

6. Controlling your personal information
You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the website, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes.
  • if you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by writing to or emailing us at [email protected].

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.

We may pass your information to sporting governing bodies and leagues unless we have your permission or your club is required to so by the governing body or league. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Telephone calls may be recorded for security and regulatory purposes and may be monitored under our quality control procedures.

 

7. Personal Data
7.1 We (or our subcontractors) will host personal data that you upload into Slate and we will take adequate technical and security measures to prevent its loss or damage and not provide such data to third party parties. The data that we collect may be transferred to and stored outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing.

7.2 We will only use your personal data to make available the functionality of Slate and contact you from time to time as specified in this Agreement or to inform you of information that we believe is relevant to your use of Slate.

7.3 Any personal data that you provide to GoCardless will be governed by a separate agreement between GoCardless and you.

7.4 The clubs members have given their explicit consent for Slate to send them emails so they can register on Slate. 

 

8. Retention of your Data
Where you are a registered user of the Site, we retain your data for as long as you remain an active user of your account. Where there has not been any activity on your account for over three years we may contact you to check you still wish to retain your account with us. Where you decide to cancel your account or we do not hear further from you, your account will be de-activated and your data will be deleted. Where you have subscribed to receive marketing correspondence from us we will keep your personal data for marketing purposes whilst your account remains active and for the period of time referred to above. This is subject to exercising your right to unsubscribe from receiving such correspondence at any time.

 

9. Legal Basis for processing your personal data
We will only use your personal data where the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • for performance of a contract we enter into with you;
  • where necessary for compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation we are subject to; and
  • for our legitimate interests (as described within this policy) where your interests and fundamental rights do not override these interests. 

 

10. Access to and updating, deleting and restricting use of your data
It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if the personal data we hold about you changes. You may update your data contained in Slate at any time.

Data protection legislation gives you the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances or withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data where this has been provided. You also have the right to access information held about you and for this to be provided in an intelligible form. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal data, please send an email to [email protected] or contact your club direct.

You can also ask us to update or delete your data if you feel this is inaccurate.

Where you have provided your consent to the collection, processing and transfer of your personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent before it is withdrawn.
